Wynn appointed to group advising Attorney General Schmidt on open government
In consultation with KASB, Kansas City attorney Deryl Wynn has been named to a group that will advise Attorney General Derek Schmidt on open government issues.
The open government training advisory group will consist of 11 to 14 members who will advise Schmidt on coordinating training throughout the state to promote knowledge of and compliance with the state’s open records and open meetings laws.
According to a resolution from Schmidt, the group will include three members appointed by the Office of Attorney General, one of whom shall be appointed as chair of the group.
The remaining members will be selected in consultation with various groups, including KASB
KASB submitted the names of three potential members and the Attorney General’s Office selected Wynn of Kansas City.
Wynn has a long record of professional and civic leadership.
He has served on the Kansas Board of Regents, been chairman of the National School Board Association Council of School Attorneys and chairman of the Kansas City-Area Chamber of Commerce. He currently is a trustee on the Emporia State University Board of Trustees and director and corporate secretary for the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation and Greater Horizons Community Foundation.
