KASB BOLD leadership program delves into crisis management during two day sessionCarol Pitts
The fifth session for the new KASB BOLD program will be held today and tomorrow at KASB in Topeka.
The group of 20 administrators from across Kansas will spend Thursday afternoon gaining knowledge and skills on crisis management.
Members will share crisis planning models used in their own districts, then participate in crisis response scenarios such as responding to threats and reducing school violence.
Discussions will also include cyber security and handling the aftermath of a crisis.
On Friday, participates will study human resource management, including best practices for opening a position; how to handle the application, vetting and interview procedures; and hiring the best fit for the job.
Also included will be effective supervision and evaluation strategies and how to handle disciplinary actions and dismissal of employees.
The Business and Operations Leadership Development (BOLD) program is sponsored by KASB Leadership Services and provides training to district-level leaders.
