More than 600 attend KASB New Day in Kansas Education tourScott Rothschild
More than 600 people participated in KASB’s recently-concluded statewide advocacy tour declaring “A New Day in Kansas Education.”
At every one of the nearly 30 stops over the past three weeks, attendees voiced appreciation for the new school finance formula and investment approved by the Legislature and the Kansans Can vision approved by the State Board of Education.
And while many expressed enthusiasm that there is a new day in Kansas education, concerns were expressed that the increased funding may not be enough after years of inadequate funding and that leading the world in the success of each student will require patience.
KASB will put together a more detailed report of the discussions later this week. For reports from those meetings go here, here, here and here. Also, KASB posted on its Facebook page numerous videos from the meetings that include conversations with Kansans across the state.
KASB wishes to thank those school officials who hosted events and all those who attended. If anyone wishes to have a KASB presentation and conversation, please contact Mark Tallman, associate executive director for advocacy, or Rob Gilligan, governmental relations specialist, at firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com or call 785-273-3600.
