How long have you been a school board member? Since 2007.

Why did you decide to become a board member? I wanted to make a difference in my own community.

Who was an adult you looked up to when you were growing up and why? My parents. Both are very driven individuals with strong work ethics that believe in prayer.

Who was your favorite teacher and why? My third-grade teacher,  Mrs. Townsend. Always pushed me to do my very best!

What do you do outside of being a board member? I also work with the youth at my Church and I volunteer as a CASA for 10 years. I enjoy working on behalf of our youth.

What experience do you bring to the table that will improve your local school district?
My Master’s Degree is in Education and my profession is program supervisor for Child Care Licensing. I am a strong advocate for children.

As a board member, what is the top goal you have this year? My goal is to help create positive learning environments for all children. I want all child to have access to quality education.

What is a saying or quote that you live by? Mathew 6:33 – Put Christ First. Also, there is no greater cause than the advancement of youth.
