On Thursday, Kelly will release her budget proposal and KASB will offer analysis of the governor’s priorities at the AIA conference.
On Friday, make sure to turn in at 10:30 a.m. to KASB Live for a wrap up of the first week of the session. A recorded KASB Live preview of the session can be viewed here.
Education advocates are encouraged to stay on top of news in the Statehouse especially since K-12 education represents half the state budget and schools are in the middle of phased-in funding increases as a result of the Gannon school finance equity lawsuit. Numerous other education issues are sure to draw the attention of legislators, including at-risk funding.
In addition to watching for education developments, school leaders should always try to communicate with their state senators and House members.
