Committee debate on school finance bill delayed

A meeting of the House K-12 Education Committee to consider a new school finance plan has been cancelled Wednesday, as committee leaders and members consider possible amendments to HB 2410.

Three days of hearings on the bill ended Monday, with school leaders raising concerns about a number of provisions in the bill, including both the total funding provided for K-12 state aid and how the funding would be distributed.

Committee Chair Larry Campbell, R-Olathe, is expected to convene the committee to consider amendments later this week.
