When – Oct. 13th 1:00-4:00 p.m.
Presenter(s) – Dr. Marcia Weseman
Purpose- Participants will complete this four-session series with a unique plan to move their local school and/or district toward a healthier, more nurturing culture that is trauma-informed and meets social and emotional needs of students and staff. The series will include developing a culture with open communication regarding race and social unrest and issues resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic. In addition to content, the sessions will include interaction with other participants around the content and application of content. For maximum benefit, a school or district team will attend the series together. The team may include school board members, district and building administrators, teacher leaders, counselors, social workers, SROs, and/or parents or community members who are part of a building site team or other advisory group. Participants who attend individually will leave the series with a plan to engage their local team when they return to their district. After the completion of Year-One’s four-part series, participants may choose to attend the next four-part series during Year-Two. Cohort two will be scheduled by invitation only.
