Dr. Doug Moeckel KASB Deputy Director/ Leadership Services Email Doug
Doug’s primary duties include whole board training, superintendent searches and strategic planning. His experiences include 31 years in education including district, secondary and elementary administration, teaching and coaching. He served as superintendent of schools in Ellsworth prior to joining KASB. He received his bachelor’s degree from Kansas State University, master’s from Fort Hays State University and doctorate from Kansas State University. Doug has served in various leadership roles including Council of Superintendents, chair of the Smoky Hill Superintendent Advisory Council and is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Kansas Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development.
Randy Weseman Assistant Executive Director / Operations Email Randy
Randy is a member of the KASB Leadership Services Team. He served as superintendent of schools for both Lawrence USD 497 and Tonganoxie USD 464 prior to joining KASB. A native of Dighton, Kansas, Randy began his education career in Lawrence as a teacher and administrator. His career has included service in the Air Force and as a private consultant.
Craig Wilford Leadership Services Field Specialist Email Craig
Craig Wilford has served in educational leadership since 1986 in the role of activities director, building level and district level administration. Craig has spent the past 26 years with the Derby Public Schools, Derby, Kansas, serving as superintendent of schools the last 11 years. Craig’s state level leadership has included serving on the Kansas Commissioner of Education’s Advisory Council, on the board of directors for the Kansas School Superintendents and as president of the United School Administrators of Kansas. He has also taught a master’s course in organizational health and performance for Baker University, Baldwin City, Kansas. He has extensive training using the Cambridge model for strategic planning and leadership training through Wichita State University’s W. Frank Barton School of Business and the Kansas Leadership Center. Craig has a bachelor of science degree from the University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa, and master’s degree from Fort Hays State University, Hays, Kansas.

Dr. Brian Jordan Assistant Executive Director/ Leadership Services Email Brian
Brian began his career as a teacher at Washburn Rural High School. He then moved on to teach and serve as an administrator at North Heights High School in Allen, Kansas. Most recently he has served a principal, director and assistant superintendent in Emporia Public Schools here in Kansas. At KASB, Brian has responsibilities for training in the areas of evaluation, managing change and board development. He received his bachelor’s degree from Kansas State University, and his master’s degree at Emporia State University, and completed his doctorate degree at Kansas State University.
Gary Sechrist Leadership Services Field Specialist Email Gary
Gary has been in educational leadership since 1992, and has served as both a building level and district level administrator throughout his career. He was named Superintendent of Promise in 2010 and was honored as the MetLife Principal of the Year in 2006. He has served on numerous educational committees and has presented around the nation on topics focused on leadership and education. Prior to joining KASB, Gary was at Lyons USD 407 where he served first as building principal and then superintendent. He received both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Fort Hays State University.
