Rob Gilligan, a Government Relations Specialist for KASB for the past 3 1/2 years, will be leaving KASB to become the first director of Ignite Emporia.
“Rob has been a key member of the KASB advocacy team and has helped further our legislative and policy efforts,” said KASB Associate Director Mark Tallman.
“In addition to working with legislators, Rob was instrumental in developing KASB’s video and podcast capabilities, leading our efforts in getting out information about the U.S. Census and launching the Advanced Advocacy Training Institute,” Tallman said.
In his new position, Rob will lead a locally driven effort to better connect Emporia area businesses with educational institutions and local government to improve workforce development in the region.
Rob currently serves on the Emporia City Commission and will continue those duties. He has served as chairman of the Regional Development Board of Directors, just completing his term in 2019. He was a part of the Emporia Main Street Board of Directors from 2006-2012 and served as Emporia State University student body president 2000-2001.
