Longtime educator, Michael Pomarico, 72, has diedScott Rothschild
Longtime educator and former KASB employee, Michael Pomarico, 72, died March 19 in Garden City.
Michael dedicated his life to education and improving educational opportunities for all children. He was a teacher and then principal before serving as superintendent in Syracuse, Atchison, Columbus, Neb. and Derby. He also worked for KASB before retiring.
He is survived by his wife, Vicky of Garden City; two daughters, a sister and brother and four grandchildren.
Services will be held at a later date. The family suggests memorials be given to the Parkinson’s Foundation or to the Michael J. Fox Foundation, both in care of Garnand Funeral Home of Garden City. Here is a link to Michael’s obituary.
