Free summer meals being made available for children 18 and youngerScott Rothschild
Free meals and snacks for children 18 and younger are being made available throughout Kansas as part of the Summer Food Service Program. No enrollment is necessary.
Meal locations are traditionally found in schools, parks, libraries, churches and many other places. To find a nearby site, text the word “Food” and your zip code to 97779. A national texting hotline is available to children and families by texting “Food” or “Comida” to 877-877 to receive information about meal service sites. The Kansas State Department of Education has developed a Public Service Announcement about the program at https://youtu.be Ongglchh6zU. Kansas SFSP sponsors served 1.38 million meals during the summer of 2017 but still fell short of meeting the needs of Kansas children.
