Wanted: Dedicated school advocates to run for school board; Filing deadline is Monday

The deadline to run for your local school board is noon Monday.

KASB has developed a handy guide on what it takes to be a school board member. Here is a link to that document.

KASB President C. Patrick Woods, who is also a member of the Topeka USD 501 board, has said serving on a local school board is the most important elected office a person can fill to serve their community.

“ … there is no greater service than that which is rendered on behalf of children, and I can think of no more effective vehicle for such service than local boards of education,” Woods said in a recent column.
