Because of increased demand, KASB has added a second workshop for school building secretaries on Tuesday, June 18 in Topeka. There will also be a building secretaries workshop on Thursday, June 20 in Dodge City.
During these half-day sessions, KASB legal staff will provide legal guidance on issues that building secretaries face every day, such as privacy rights, custody rights and student records.
KASB also is offering training throughout June in numerous other areas, including school board clerks, treasurers and superintendents too.
The sessions are designed to help school officials fulfill their responsibilities and legal requirements in the successful daily operations of schools.
On Wednesday, June 19 in Topeka, a clerks and treasurers workshop will feature KASB advocacy and legal staff providing updates on legislation and other important topics that affect your work. This workshop is a make-up date for one that was cancelled in February because of weather. To register for this workshop, go to this link.
On Tuesday, June 25 in Hays and Wednesday, June 26 in Topeka, KASB will conduct a workshop for new board clerks and superintendents that will provide an understanding of the legal duties and required timelines for the daily operations of school districts.
