KASB offers Board Leadership Training On-Demand to help districtsScott Rothschild
KASB is offering a new service to school board members to help navigate the changing world of public education during this unprecedented time, which requires finding new ways to help students succeed and operate schools amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Board Leadership Training On-Demand is a series of training modules that includes videos on building strong, efficient district leadership teams, worksheets tied to specific topics and virtual forums in which education leaders can share information and discuss timely issues. Board Leadership Training On-Demand will culminate with live question and answer sessions via zoom with KASB Leadership staff on Aug. 28 and Sept. 11.
“KASB is committed to staying connected with our members during these unprecedented times through the development of innovative strategies that will continue to support the growth of our individual board teams,” said KASB Director of Leadership Services and Partnerships Dr. Britton Hart.
Here is a link to a Twitter video introducing the series.
Specific topics for the leadership training include creating school board agendas, board leadership fundamentals, development of productive board culture, the superintendent evaluation process and effective teamwork and collaboration.
Registration is required and the training costs $38. For more information, go to this link.
In addition, KASB Legal/Policy will soon be offering school districts on-demand legal training that will cover topics such as special education, student discipline, student rights, sex discrimination and employment law.
