State Board considers bond issues; hears from Gemini I schoolsScott Rothschild
The State Board of Education this week will consider authorizing bond elections for Turner USD 202 and Remington USD 206.
Turner USD 202, in Wyandotte County, is seeking a $44 million bond issue, which will go toward building a new middle school and other building repairs, remodels and additions.
Remington USD 206, in Butler County, is seeking a $9.975 million bond issue for school additions, gymnasium and other improvements.
In other business, the State Board on Tuesday will act on Kansas standards for English Learners and receive updates on Kansas Reading for Success and standards for health and physical education.
On Wednesday, the board will hear presentations from three Gemini 1 school districts on their redesign plans. Those districts are Dighton USD 482, North Ottawa County USD 239 and Newton USD 373.
