Major speakers lined up for KASB 2018 Annual Conference

Four major speakers will address the 2018 KASB Annual Conference Nov. 30-Dec.2 in Overland Park.

Keynote Speaker Garrison Wynn will address the conference at 8:45 a.m. Sat. Dec. 1, while Kansas Education Commissioner Randy Watson and Deputy Commissioner Dale Dennis will talk at 3:30 p.m. the same day.

Dan Meers, who is also known as K.C. Wolf, the official mascot of the Kansas City Chiefs, will provide the inspirational keynote at 8 a.m. Sun. Dec. 2.

Wynn uses his Fortune 500 business and stand-up comic experiences to deliver a lively presentation on success, embracing change and leadership strategies for educators. He will focus on the difference between managing people and leading them to be responsible, empowered and confident contributors. Wynn will also be presenting breakout sessions on “Influence in Action! What the Most Successful People Do Differently.”

Watson and Dennis, both longtime education officials in Kansas, will provide insights into the many initiatives going on in Kansas public schools.

Meers will share his story of when in 2013 he came within inches of losing his life while practicing a bungee jump and zip line stunt at Arrowhead Stadium.
