Hundreds of education leaders have started arriving in Overland Park for KASB’s 2018 Annual Conference, which continues through Sunday.
The event at the Sheraton Hotel and Overland Park Convention Center starts with pre-conference sessions today that include Meeting All Kids Needs school tours, a new Cultural Proficiency Workshop, the Winter School Law Conference, Foundations of Boardsmanship and KSSA Day.
Three major speakers will address the conference on Saturday. They include keynoter Garrison Wynn, Kansas Education Commissioner Randy Watson and Deputy Commissioner Dale Dennis. Dan Meers, also known as K.C. Wolf, the official mascot of the Kansas City Chiefs, will provide the inspirational session on Sunday.
The conference also features a trade show, dozens of breakout sessions and the Delegate Assembly will vote on legislative priorities and elect new leaders. The annual event gives school leaders the opportunity to network and share knowledge and experiences with other leaders from around the state.
