KASB BOLD heads to Spring Hill for instruction in constructionScott Rothschild
Just about everything you need to know about planning, financing and constructing a school building project is on the agenda for this week’s KASB BOLD class gathering. The business and operations leadership development program includes 20 school administrators from across Kansas, meeting in Spring Hill today and tomorrow for the third session in KASB’s newest leadership development program.
Thursday’s agenda includes how to put together a project team and develop a plan, how to engage the community in the pre-bond planning phase, how to run the bond election and campaign and a primer on financing the project using municipal bonds. Additional topics will include working with a contractor and the various phases of construction once the bond election has passed.
The class will finish up on Friday with a two-hour innovation workshop and then spend time with KASB’s leadership services staff in discussions and case studies.
