"Sterling not only had an aggressive timeline for our search, but the involvement and input from our administration, faculty, staff, students, and community was essential as we moved through the process. Gary Sechrist provided excellent leadership, which allowed us to select a candidate that we can honestly say met the criteria that our entire learning community was looking for. Our experience with KASB could not have been better. "
Ken Brown, Board President, Sterling USD 376
KASB offers a customized, full-service search process to boards of education in Kansas. The Association is the only organization offering this service whose primary goal is to serve Kansas boards of education and Kansas public education. The Association has completed hundreds of searches in the 40 years we have been offering this service, 200 just since 2003! We offer searches for superintendents and other educational executive leadership positions and administrators with one goal in mind, to find the best leaders for your specific district. We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all solutions. Our methodology and track record reflect the success of fine-tuning our search process to suit your community.
Your search will be conducted by professional and experienced educational leaders, many of whom are former school superintendents. KASB works with boards to develop an effective and legal superintendent recruiting and selection process, and we are with you every step of the way! From building a profile of your next chief administrator to engaging the staff and community to conducting interviews with finalists, KASB can help you make the right decision for your district. Our process includes in-depth conversations with both board members and key community stakeholders to ensure that we match the values of your district with its next superintendent. We know that process of finding a district leader can be difficult, and we strive to make the transition as seamless as possible for all involved.
We also offer searches for both community college presidents and school district key administrative positions. Many members take advantage of our service to post your own announcements - at no fee to you - for superintendent/CEO and key administrative vacancies. All position announcements appear on the KASB website and are accessible both statewide and nationwide.
