KASB Transitioning to New Building in 2025
The KASB board of directors has approved the sale of the longtime office building at 1420 SW Arrowhead Road in Topeka. In his opening remarks during KASB’s annual convention, Executive Director Dr. Brian Jordan, announced that staff operations will move to a smaller building in Topeka to better reflect the organization’s staffing and delivery of services to KASB members.
“Over the past decade,” Jordan said, “our business model has evolved. We have shifted to hiring staff who reside across Kansas, presenting more events around the state, offering virtual learning and resources and bringing training services to our members.”
These changes have greatly reduced the active use of the large 43,000 square foot building that KASB purchased in 1992. Moving to a smaller building will ease Association operating expenses over time, while continuing to provide members the highest level of resources, training and support. The move to a new building is expected to begin in the first part of January 2025 and be complete by summer.
“I want to thank the KASB board of directors for their vision, diligence and willingness to study and ultimately make this move,” Jordan said. “Our commitment to our mission remains as steadfast as ever – to provide board members and school district leaders with the support, expertise and resources they need to help every Kansas student succeed in school and life.”
Updates about the new building and timeline for moving will be included in the Member Highlights weekly email newsletter that is sent to all KASB members.
