KASB is a non-profit service organization built on a deep, abiding belief in Kansas public schools.
We have put the needs of school districts first since 1917, and we are proud of our mission to provide board members and school district leaders with the support, expertise, and resources they need to help every Kansas student succeed in school and in life.
We strive to improve the way districts serve every student and believe in the longstanding Kansas value of local control. We champion the role of parents and the community in their school district and are committed to the work to make school a safe and caring place for every student.
Our team is responsive to a wide range of district needs all year long. We offer our members expert perspective, valuable experience, and a trustworthy belief in the work of public schools. In good times and challenging times, our legal, leadership and communication teams stand ready to support our members.
We are a trusted voice in Kansas education. We unite people and focus on the issues that matter most to school districts. And we take pride in building common ground and advancing the needs of Kansas public schools and the students they serve.
We believe in transparent governance and transparent funding. Our 18-member governing board is made up of seated school board members from districts in every region of Kansas. Our budget is funded through a combination of membership dues, partnerships, and fee-based services that members may select.
We advance the needs of public education and Kansas students in Topeka. Each year, our legislative priorities are updated and approved by Kansas school board members from across the state who gather and vote at Delegate Assembly.
We serve with honesty and integrity. As our team works in school districts every day across the state, we promote legal, ethical, and transparent decision-making.
Our mission is to provide school district leaders with the support, expertise and resources they need to help every Kansas student succeed in school and life.
We put our members’ needs and interests first, providing direct support to board members, superintendents, board clerks and other district staff that help educate over 500,000 Kansas students every year.
