March 7, 2026 — KASB Board of Directors Meeting Summary

The KASB Board of Directors met Saturday, March 7, 2026, at the Perry-Lecompton USD 343 District Office.
The meeting followed a district tour the previous day, hosted by Perry-Lecompton— home district of KASB Board President Dr. Emily Riner. Board members visited the district’s early childhood center, located in a former elementary building, and toured newly constructed classrooms designed to better serve students. Along the way, they observed classroom activities and gained insight into the district’s approach to student engagement.
The tour also highlighted several facility improvements made possible through a successful bond project, including a new auditorium, where board members were treated to a few songs performed by students from the high school’s fall musical, “Annie.” They heard about the district’s strong FFA program and spoke with students in the welding program, visited the school greenhouse used for hands-on learning and toured a newly built practice gym featuring a state-of-the-art weight room and dedicated spaces for wrestling, basketball, volleyball and batting practice.
During the meeting, the board approved the agenda, consent agenda and Policy EAH – Reimbursement of Expenses, clarifying the policy’s effective start date as July 1.
Board members also received updates on advocacy efforts, Foundations of Boardsmanship trainings and the member engagement data framework. In addition, they participated in their annual fiduciary responsibilities training, reviewed a mid-year budget report and began the process of conducting the Executive Director’s performance review.
The next board meeting is scheduled for June 6, 2026.
