Bond Communication Services

Bond Communication Services
Strategic communication support to inform voters and lead with confidence.
Planning for a bond election involves more than facilities and finances — it requires clear, timely and lawful communication. KASB’s Bond Communication Services provide districts with knowledgeable guidance and practical tools to help ensure voters understand what is being proposed and how it supports students and the community.
Our role is to help districts educate and inform, not advocate. We work alongside district leaders to build a thoughtful communication plan that reflects community values, aligns with legal requirements and starts early enough to make a difference.
Purposeful Communication, Built on Listening
Common challenges districts face when preparing for a bond election include:
- Limited engagement with staff, families and community members before decisions are finalized
- Beginning communication too late in the process to build understanding and trust
- Uncertainty about evolving legal requirements that can cause districts to hesitate to communicate
KASB helps districts navigate these challenges with a structured, strategic and legally sound approach to communication.
What KASB Provides...
Our Bond Communication Services are customized to your district’s timeline, community and needs.
-
Using ThoughtExchange, KASB helps districts gather feedback from key audiences — employees, families, community leaders and voters — to better understand priorities, questions and expectations before final decisions are made.
-
We support districts in developing messaging that:
- Clearly explains the proposed bond
- Connects to shared community values
- Focuses on district needs and student outcomes
-
KASB’s team will work with your district to develop a realistic, step-by-step communication plan designed to educate employees and voters over time. This plan would identify key themes, communication timeline, and primary communication tools based on current district resources and capabilities.
-
KASB provides coaching throughout the communication process to support effective implementation and help districts respond confidently to questions, concerns and rumors.
-
Districts can communicate with confidence knowing KASB’s recommended strategies, messages and materials align with current laws and regulations.
Important Reminder:
KASB supports district communication to educate and inform voters. By law, districts may not advocate in a bond election. This service does not provide counsel or support to any independent community committee.
Begin Planning Tomorrow's Success Today
Bond Communication Services are designed for districts planning a bond election six to 18 months in advance. To benefit most from this service, elections should be at least five to six months away. Beginning early allows time to listen, plan and communicate effectively — well before Election Day approaches.
